Crossing the Threshold

Crossing the threshold is the next step in the hero's journey. This is where the hero really starts to dive into their journey. Once here, there is no going back. The hero must face a problem or event that forces them to soon move to the special world. They accept their first challenge here.

The very first time Harry enters into the world of magic is when he and Hagrid goes into Diagon Alley. Here, he finally witnesses the world of magic firsthand. Harry meets wizards and witches, chooses his wand, gets all the necessary supplies for Hogwarts, and withdraws money from his account(left from his parents) at Gringotts Bank all witht the help of Hagrid. There is no turning back for Harry after all of this investment in going to Hogwarts.
