The Hero

Characters in movies and stories can be classified into certain archetypes. One of them is called the hero. The hero is the main character archetype. They are told to accept the challenge of the journey. Throughout their journey, they meet new people, face other tasks, and may even risk their life for the better. From this, they gain new abilities/items or learn from lessons to help when they get back to the ordinary world.

In Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone, Harry Potter represents the qualities of the hero. After growing up in a bit of a harsh and unfair environment, he is accepted into Hogwarts. Entering into this new and magical world, he finds out about his parents unusual death. From this, he gained the ability to speak snake. Later on, he finds out about the Sorcerer's Stone being planned to be stolen. Throughout the rest of the movie, Harry and his friends look for and go after the stone to prevent it.
