Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone
The Ordeal
After the approach to the inmost cave, the hero then faces the ordeal. It is the main life-or-death situation and he must face the most challenging situation. No one knows whether the hero will succeed, making the viewers left in suspense. This stage is a must in any journey. The hero tthen gets 'reborn' after experiencing death in some sort of way. It may also give the hero a false sense of security.
Harry finally arrives to the main problem in the movie. He meets Prof. Quirrell in a room with the Mirror of Erised. Harry then finds out that Prof. Quirrell is an ally to Voldemort. He makes Harry look through the mirror to find the stone and when he knows where it is, Harry refuses to give it to Prof. Quirrell. Voldemort then makes Prof. Quirrell to attack and grab the stone from Harry. Once Harry has managed to defeat Prof. Quirrell, Voldemort's soul/spirit passes through Harry and causes him to pass out.
